Forks State Forest Campground
Fishing
Boardman River (on site): Brown Trout..
Spider Lake (8 miles West): Bluegill, Bass, and Perch.
Arbutus Lake (11 miles West): Brown Trout.
Hiking
Muncie Lake (1/2 mile West): 11.5 miles. Hike, mountain bike, cross-country ski.
Vasa (3 miles NE): 16.7 miles. Hike, mountain bike, cross-country ski.
Sand Lakes Quiet Area (3 miles NE): 10+ miles of flat to very hilly terrain. Hike and mountain bike.
Off-Road Vehicle Trails/Routes
Grand Traverse (1 mile SE): 66 miles of motorcycle trail only and 5 miles of rull-sized vehicle ORV route.
Watchable Wildlife
Sand Lakes Quiet Area contains five marl lakes surrounded by rolling hills of oak-pine forest and offers opportunities for viewing deer, turkey, squirrel, and other woodland wildlife. Some lakes are stocked with test populations of hybrid fish. Motorized vehicles prohibited (3 miles NE).
