Beaufort Lake (on site) and Ruth Lake (2 miles NW): Walleye, Perch and Northern Pike.

Watchable Wildlife

Canyon Falls Roadside Park is 12 miles NW. This has a boardwalk along the Sturgeon River to Canyon Falls. This is a very scenic site. Opportunities for viewing songbirds, woodpeckers, grouse, hawks, eagles, whitetail deer, black bear, and snowshoe hares. Other sites: . Moose were released in wild land to the North of Michigamme. They are occasionally seen on backwoods roads, and in rivers and shallow lakes.
