Shaw Lacy slacy@umich.edu I received my BSc in Marine and Environmental Biology in 1999 from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. My capstone research looked at the distribution of humpback whale populations in the North Atlantic through the use of tail fluke pigmentation patterns. I took 18 months off from academia to follow my interests in the martial arts, and trained in Japanese martial art of Aikido at a dojo in Denver. I attended classes at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ before entering the MS program at the University of Michigan. I am currently a PhD student working with Li Wang, and looking at the implications of ground water withdrawals on fish populations in neighboring waterways. |
