| | Due to construction the pathway and waterway that connect Island Lake to Kensington will be closed until spring of 2009. Additionally entrance into the shooting range will be from the west only. Look for I-96 roadway overpass construction to begin in the spring of 2009.
|  |  | Island Lake Recreation Area has one of the nation's safest shooting ranges. The park has great canoeing, volley ball courts, picnic shelters, swimming and cabins to rent.
