Pinckney Recreation Area is a paradise for backpackers, mountain bikers, anglers and other recreation enthusiasts. Pinckney is known for its extensive trail system and chain of excellent fishing lakes. Over forty miles of multi-use trail with remote campsites afford a backcountry experience. Pinckney is also a short drive from the Gerald E. Eddy Discovery Center in Waterloo Recreation Area.

A Yurt is a round self-supporting, tent-like structure that originated in central Asia and provides snug, weather tight, camping comfort. The Glenbrook Yurt is located on a ridge overlooking Portage River and Halfmoon Lake and is on the shortcut on the Potawatomi Trail. It is intended to provide a quiet and unique camping experience. The yurt sleeps 5, with a bunkbed that is a double on the bottom and a single on top, plus a futon that folds down to a double bed.
