Brighton Bishop Lake-Modern
Boat Rental
Canoes, kayaks, row boats, and paddleboats are available to rent at the campground office. Boat rentals are generally available Memorial Day through Labor Day, but may be available at other times. Please call the park to confirm availibility.
Hiking
The Penosha and Kahchin trails are dirt trails, 5 and 2 miles in length respectively. The Bishop Lake trail is a universally accessible linear trail approximately 1 mile in length.
Michigan State Park Explorer Program
Explorer Guide programs are offered throughout the week during the summer. Most programs meet in the Bishop Lake Campground.
Mountain Biking
The Torn Shirt and Murray Lake mountain bike trails are just a short ride from the campground.
Swimming
The swimming beach is approximately a half mile from the campground. There is a paved walkway from the campground to the beach.
Barrier-free Facilities
Bishop Lake modern campground contains barrier-free restrooms, a fishing pier, boat launch and trail.
Boat Launch
A paved boat ramp is available within the Bishop Lake campground.
Electrical Service
20 and 30 amp electrical service available on all sites.
Fishing Pier
An accessible fishing pier is available a short distance from the Bishop Lake boat launch.
Modern Restrooms
Modern showers and restrooms are available in the lower loop of the Bishop Lake campground. This building can be reached via stairs for guests staying in the upper loop.
Sanitation Station
A two lane sanitation station is located near the campground office.
