A number of designated trout streams are located within 30 minutes of the park. | Geocaching | Hiking There are no established trails within the park, but a nearby abandoned railroad cooridor adjacent to the park provides opportunities for hiking and skiing in the winter. | Hunting Prohibited Hunting is prohibited in Brimley State Park. However, hunting is allowed south of 6 Mile Road on State Forest land. Additional State and Federal forest land open to hunting near the park. Nearby state and federal forest land supports snowshoe hare, deer, black bear and ruffed grouse. | Metal Detecting Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that do not damage the natural and cultural resources in Michigan State Parks nor violate applicable state statutes.The entire park is open to metal detecting.
