 | | Grand Haven State Park |  |  Alcohol Restrictions It is illegal to possess or consume alcoholic beverages at any time in the entire Grand Haven State Park except with the written authorization of the park manager. |  Cross Country Ski While there are no established trails, the park is open during winter months for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking. |   Fishing There is no launch site, but one is located nearby on Harbor Island which provides access to the Grand River and Lake Michigan. The pier in the park provides excellent shore fishing. |  Hiking Although the park is closed in the winter, foot traffic to view the shoreline ice, lighthouse pier and sunsets is encouraged. |  Metal Detecting Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that do not damage the natural and cultural resources in Michigan State Parks nor violate applicable state statutes. The entire park is open to this activity, however, any items found must be reviewed by park staff and may be retained for further investigation. |  MiWiFi MiWiFi provides wireless Internet access in the day-use area of this park. The access point is located near the concessions area and radiates about 150 feet from this location in all directions. This service is also available in other parks and harbors throughout Michigan. |  Swimming The sandy beach provides excllent sunbathing and swimming opportunities. |
