Two fishing piers are available as well as access to various shore fishing sites. Click here for a contour map of Lake Ovid. | Fishing in the Parks Learn more about fishing at Fishing in the Parks, a free educational program. | Hiking There are more than 11 miles of hiking trails that take you through prairie grasses, hardwood forest and stands of pine trees. | Hunting Park lands are open to hunting and trapping during the appropriate seasons. The hunting is excellent for ducks, deer, rabbit and squirrel. Turkey, woodcock, pheasant, quail and grouse are also found in the park. | Metal Detecting Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that do not damage the natural and cultural resources in Michigan State Parks nor violate applicable state statutes. If you wish to use a metal detector in this state park, here is a map that shows clearly where this activity may take place. | | Beach |  Beach House Located on Lake Ovid. |  Boat Launch Boat launch and parking area are paved. Lake Ovid is a "No Wake" lake inside Sleepy Hollow State park. There are 2 boating access sites in Clinton County maintained by the park, Muskrat Lake and Looking Glass River. See the Michigan Recreational Boating Information System for more information. | Concession/ Store Kayaks, rowboats, paddleboats and pontoon boats are available for rent. | Electrical Service | Group Use Area | Modern Restrooms | Picnic Area For the day-user, a beach is located northwest of the campground with picnic tables, beach house and phones. The beach area also includes 2 picnic shelters. |  Picnic Shelter There are 3 picnic shelters located in the park. The East Picnic Shelter includes picnic tables, hand water pump, grills, fireplace, and vault toilets. The North and South picnic shelters are located at the beach and include picnic tables, grills, electricity, and modern bathroom facilities. Each shelter is available at no charge on a first-come-first served basis.
