 | | King Lake State Forest Campground | | Fishing King Lake (on site): Northern Pike, Perch, Crappie Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass.
Boating access site: There is an access ramp at the campground. The ramp is shallow. | Off-Road Vehicle Trails/Routes Baraga Plains ATV Trail is 14 miles NW and offers 28 miles of cycle/ATV trail. | Watchable Wildlife Canyon Falls Roadside Park is 12 miles NW. This has a boardwalk along the Sturgeon River to Canyon Falls. This is a very scenic site. Opportunities for viewing songbirds, woodpeckers, grouse, hawks, eagles, whitetail deer, black bear, and snowshoe hares. Additional sites: Eagles nest on some of the islands in King Lake. Moose were released in wild land to the North of Michigamme. They are occasionally seen on backwoods roads, and in rivers and shallow lakes. |
