The Program Committee for the Tenth American Woodcock Symposium would like to inform everyone that the deadline for technical program abstracts is February 1, 2006. Manuscript deadline is December15, 2006. The symposium will be held October 3-6, 2006, at the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center near Grayling, Michigan.
The Program Committee welcomes papers on all aspects of biology, ecology, behavior, conservation, management, and research methods of American woodcock. Contributions that provide original information on woodcock conservation issues, report results of randomized, replicated, controlled studies, the use of habitat management techniques and their efficacy to managing woodcock habitat, or illustrate population responses to management practices, long-term population studies and landscape-level habitat assessments are especially welcome.
The deadline for abstracts is February 1, 2006. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed. Authors will be notified by March 2006 of abstract acceptance. Authors of accepted abstracts are expected to submit manuscripts and make oral presentations.
The deadline for accepted manuscripts is December 15, 2006.
Materials from accepted presentations will be published as the Proceedings of the Tenth American Woodcock Symposium. All manuscripts submitted for oral presentations will be peer-reviewed, refereed, and published in book chapter format. Hardbound proceedings will be available at the symposium.
Meeting deadlines by authors, editors, and reviewers is critical for timely publication of the Proceedings.
